Souper Soup Results

Thank you to everyone who helped make The Eureka Springs Historical Museum’s annual fundraiser, SOUPER SOUP, such a great success. The promise of a warm bowl of soup with cornbread and a desert on a chilly damp day drew a big crowd. Thank you to our supportive community and the visitors who came to enjoy the fine food and good company. Thank you to all the local restaurants and bed & breakfast inns that donated the delicious soups and desserts. We also want to thank the high school and all the other businesses who donated food, drinks, and serving supplies.

Diners got the opportunity to vote on their favorite out of 13 varieties of soup and 15 different desserts. The voting was close with First place in the soup category going to the Balcony Bar at the Basin Park Hotel for their Clam Chowder, Mud Street Cafe’s Shrimp Bisque placed Second, and Casa Colina’s Jalapeno Soup came in Third. Heartstone Inn’s Kentucky Bourbon Pecan Pie was the # 1 dessert, the Pecan Pies from Evening Shade Inn took 2nd Place, and Bridgeford’s House Buttermilk Pie was the 3rd most popular. As evidenced by empty pots and pans, they were all winners!

The Souper Soup is one of the Museum’s most popular annual fundraisers. The Museum will use the money raised, along with matching funds from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, to repair the roof, restore the facade, and create an art gallery on the second floor. We thank all of you who attended and helped support the Museum and these projects.

During the current renovation, the admission fee is being waived. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the Museum, located at 95 South Main, and see what exhibits, events and services it has to offer.

To see how you can become a supporting member of the museum, call Ginni Miller, 479/253-9417. Thanks to Cynthia Morin, we have new and exciting website with more information: www.eurekaspringshistoricalmuseum.org
